Women’s Day! #choosetochallenge

Happy International Women’s Day!!!

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” – Mother Teresa, Activist

Y’all want to know what International Women’s Day is?

Here you go!

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a worldwide celebration of women’s achievements, as well as a day of education, empowerment, and action. Its purpose is to promote gender equality across the globe. It has been observed since 1911.

We’ve always known how it is a struggle for women to be heard or seen in the world (especially in this part). We see women making moves and people still try to tone it down.

The theme #choosetochallenge 2021 means we are not going to allow society to box us and we will always push for change. We are tired of the status quo!

Women are making wild moves in different aspects of life like business, media, education, arts, medical, and a lot more. It’s inspiring.

  • KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND GO FOR IT.

Girl! Don’t let anyone choose for you. Whatever it is that you want, be dedicated to it and you’ll see what will happen. If you’ve been stalling, hoarding ideas, or just procrastinating, JUST DO IT! Let the world see what you’ve got.

  • GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

By now you should know that your comfort zone is not that safe because change begins when you step out of that comfort zone. So I urge you to challenge yourself today.

  • EDUCATE YOURSELF

This might sound cliché but “Knowledge is Power”. And to be at the front roll in life you have to know stuff that matters. Educate yourself about different things and most especially your niché.

  • ASK

Like I said in one of my previous posts on asking “Closed mouths don’t get fed” and that means you might probably not get what you want if you don’t ask for it.

Few examples of women making moves:

Ps; I intentionally mentioned Nigerians.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Niyi Akinmolayan, Aramide Akinti, Dimmah Umeh, Precious Gaza, FK Abudu, Chimamanda Adichie, Lola.awk, Cassie Daves, Deola Olatunji, Temi the Poet, Amin, StylDeb, You(if you’re a female🙂), and a lot more.

Nothing can stop us because we choose to challenge whatever box society tries to put us in. Don’t let anyone label you. Power has no gender, own it!

  1. Happy international women’s day!
I’m particularly excited about this year’s theme. The fact that it is pushing for change and challenging us to do better, it is commendable.
Plus I’m glad I made it to your list of women making moves. Thank you, Omobolanle ❤️
You are special and I hope you know it😊

  2. I agree with all the tips you shared here! It’s a shame that women still have to fight for equality in 2021.Women deserve the same type of respect and recognition that men get. We definitely have to push ourselves to be all that our Heavenly Father has created us to be. It’s the only way we’ll see change in our lives. It’s a challenge for many of us to do this (myself included), but we cannot give in to naysayers and our own negative thoughts. Gotta allow God to lead us and trust that He won’t lead us astray. Thanks for sharing these reminders and take care! 🙂
